For a little bit of history about this hotel, it originally opened as a two-part hotel, which one part was owned by William Waldorf Astor, a cousin of the infamous John Jacob Astor, who owned the other part of the hotel – and died in 1912, while on the Titanic’s maiden voyage.

COPACABANA PALACE


Next is one of the world’s most famous hotels, and we will take a tour of the “Copacabana Palace” located in the bustling and infamous city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

For a bit of details about the luxury hotel, the hotel is owned by the Orient Express firm, has 108-118 rooms, a few restaurants and bars and places to relax your mind and body.

Furthermore, the hotel was opened in 1923 and was owned by the Guinle family until 1988, when it was sold to the Orient Express firm, which began an extensive renovation of the hotel. That is product of what how the hotel looks like today.

Also, the hotel has housed and served famous guests, such as Orson Wells, Ava Gardner, Calvin Kline and former U.S. president, Bill Clinton.


Now, for the hotel’s restaurants and bars, the elegant restaurant, “Bife de Ouro,” the semi-elegant, “Pergula,” the bar “Copa Plano” and the “Hotel Cipriani” restaurant, are all fine places to enjoy delicious meals and/or glass of fine, vintage wine. Although, there is not official dress code at any of these restaurants and bars, it is best to dress either smart casual or elegant casual.

We will talk about the “Grand Europe Hotel,” located in Saint Petersburg, Russia. The Grand Europe Hotel is one of Europe’s elite hotels, which attracts guests from all over the world, including the wealthy and super wealthy.

For a little bit about the hotel’s history; the hotel originally opened on January 1st, 1875 and was in operation until the beginning of the Russian Revolution of 1917, when the tsar was forced to abdicate his title and was sent into exile. The hotel reopened in 1991, shortly after the fall of the communist government in Russia.

As for the features of the hotel, it has 301 rooms with restaurants called the “Europe Restaurant,” “Sadko’s,” “Chopsticks,” “Mezzanine Café” and “Brasserie.” For the hotel’s amenities, they include a minibar, a personal safe, satellite television, international telephone with modem, armchairs, writing desk, hairdryer and wireless Internet upon request in each room and suite. Not bad for a luxurious hotel, huh?
