OPENING OF THE ATLANTIS HOTEL

The Opening Party of the Atlantis Hotel

On November 20th of this year, the newest of Dubai’s megahotels, opened its doors to eager spectators and future guests. This event was the opening of the luxury megahotel, the Atlantis.


Following the hotel’s grand opening, there was a lavish, private party, which included celebrities and honored guests. The guest list included Charlize Theron, Denzel Washington, Sarah Ferguson, Richard Branson, and Lindsay Lohan. The party also included some Dubai royal family members.

The party, indeed, was described as the mother of all parties, as the total cost of the party totaled around $32 million dollars. 2 million dollars of this money went to Kylie Minogue, who performed a 60-minutes set. This makes this live performance the best paid in the entire entertainment industry and history.


In addition, the party included a $6 million firework display – an elaborate creation of the company Grucci’s. This is the same company furnished the fireworks for the Beijing Olympics.
Moreover, the total cost of the catering for this party was $3 million and another $20 million was spent on free accommodations for the party’s guests.

It is also the tallest with a height of 1,053 feet tall– towering Thailand’s Baiyoke Sky Hotel.
